Burlington man charged with fraud

Police say the man went to a Burlington business in spring 2015 and got more than $40,000 in sponsorship money for his program.

He didn’t present the program at the sponsored schools, police say, and “in several cases, did not even attempt to contact the sponsored schools to try to arrange the presentation.”

Police say the man told the sponsoring business that several presentations were arranged and going ahead.

He is charged with one count of fraud over $5,000 and will appear in Milton court on Oct. 5.
